Is an Axle-Back as good as a Cat-Back?
For sound and looks? Yes. Since the muffler restricts the sound the most, changing just the axle-back section gives you 80% of the sound improvement of a full system.
For performance? No. An axle-back does not replace the restrictive factory mid-pipe or crimped tubing. You won't see significant horsepower gains, but you will save about $500–$800 compared to a full cat-back system.
Will a "Muffler Delete" drone on the highway?
Likely, yes. A "Muffler Delete" or straight-pipe axle-back removes the sound dampening entirely. While it sounds awesome on the trail, it can produce a booming resonance (drone) inside the cabin at 70 MPH. If you do a lot of highway driving, we recommend a system with a Resonator or Muffler (like Borla or AWE) rather than a straight pipe.
Does it affect the Auto Start/Stop?
No. The exhaust system has no connection to the Auto Start/Stop feature. However, when the engine shuts off at a light and restarts, the "bark" of the cold start will be much more noticeable with an aftermarket exhaust.
