Husky vs. WeatherTech vs. TuxMat: Which Bronco Floor Liner Wins?

You just bought a 2021–2025 Ford Bronco.

Maybe you got the Outer Banks with nice carpet, or maybe you got the Badlands with the rubberized "Washout" floors.

Either way, one trip to the trail (or the grocery store in winter) proves one thing: The factory mats aren't enough.

You need better protection. But which brand do you choose?

  • WeatherTech: The household name. Rigid, tough, but sometimes a bit slippery.
  • Husky Liners (X-act Contour): The off-road favorite. Soft, rubbery, and super grippy.
  • TuxMat: The newcomer. Massive coverage that looks like a high-end quilted suit for your floor.

In this guide, we compare the fit, feel, and drain-plug compatibility of the top three contenders to help you decide which one belongs in your footwell.

Frequently Asked Questions (Floor Mats)

Do these work with the factory drain plugs?

It depends on the model.

  • Ford OEM and some Mabett mats often have removable caps directly over the drain plugs.
  • Husky/WeatherTech typically cover the plug. However, because they are "bucket" style liners, you can simply pull the whole mat out (with the water inside it) and dump it, which is often easier than pulling a plug and letting water drain into the chassis.

Why shouldn't I just use the factory rubber floors?

While the "Washout" flooring is durable, it is essentially the "carpet" of the car. If you grind mud and sand into it for years, it will scratch and fade. Using a Floor Liner on top of the washout floor acts as a sacrificial layer that is cheaper to replace than the vehicle's actual flooring.

My Bronco has carpet. Will these mats slide around?

No. All the liners we sell for carpeted models (Husky, WeatherTech, TuxMat) feature Retention Cleats (spikes) on the bottom or utilize the factory retention hooks to lock the mat in place. They will not slide under the pedals.

Don't ruin your carpet.
