Can I wash these seat covers?
It depends on the material.
- Canvas/Carhartt: Yes, most can be thrown in a washing machine (cold water, air dry).
- Neoprene: Hand wash or spot clean with wetsuit shampoo. Machine washing can separate the rubber backing.
- Leatherette: Wipe down with a damp cloth only.
Do these fit over the factory leather?
Yes. Custom fit covers are designed to slip over whatever upholstery you currently have. Many owners with factory leather use Carhartt covers to protect the leather from dogs or work tools, then remove them for "Date Night" or resale.
How hard are they to install?
Medium. A good, tight fit takes effort. You will need to push straps between the seat back and bottom cushion (the "pass-through").
Tip: On the 2015-2020 F-150, the rear seat back release latch is hidden behind the seat. You may need a "Rear Seat Release Kit" (a small strap) to easily fold the rear seat down to strap on the covers.
