Yes. Modern electric steps use high-torque motors designed to break through ice buildup. However, in severe climates, we recommend spraying the hinges with silicone lubricant (not grease) once a winter to keep them moving freely.
Can I install these myself?
Yes. The 2021+ F-150 comes from the factory with threaded studs already sticking out of the inner rocker panel. Most fixed running boards simply slide onto these studs and bolt down with the included hardware. It takes about 45 minutes with a socket wrench.
