You go to checkout, and you see a warning: "Does not fit models with RamBox."
What is RamBox? And why does it ruin everything?
The RamBox Cargo Management System is a factory option that adds lockable storage bins into the sidewalls of the bed. It’s an awesome feature for storing tools and beer, but it narrows the actual bed width by several inches.
If you try to install a standard Bed Mat, it will be too wide.
If you try to clamp on a standard Tonneau Cover, the rails won't have a metal lip to grab onto.
RAM bed accessories are not universal.

Will a bed mat fit if I have a plastic drop-in liner?
Usually, no. Heavy-duty rubber bed mats (like DeeZee) are designed to fit the shape of the bare metal bed floor. A plastic drop-in liner changes the shape and reduces the width of the floor. If you have a drop-in liner, you don't need a mat (the liner is the protection). If you have a Spray-In liner, the rubber mat fits perfectly and adds much-needed grip.
How does the Tailgate Assist install?
It uses a small hydraulic shock hidden behind the driver's side tail light.
- Remove the factory cable bolt.
- Install the "Ball Mount" plate.
- Install the "Nutsert" (blind nut) into the tailgate hole. Note: Tightening the nutsert correctly is the hardest part—follow instructions closely!

Clip on the shock.
Now, when you unlatch the tailgate, it glides down slowly instead of crashing.
Can I install a Swing Case with a Tonneau Cover?
Yes. The UnderCover Swing Case mounts to the side of the bed (near the tailgate) and sits low enough to clear almost all tonneau cover rails. It swings out 180° over the tailgate for easy access, so you don't have to crawl into the bed to get your tools.
