The $50 Upgrade: Why Every Bronco Needs a Black Exhaust Tip

Walk around your 2021–2025 Ford Bronco.

The front looks aggressive with that bold grille.

The sides look tough with those 35-inch tires.

Then you get to the back... and you see a skinny, unfinished metal pipe poking out from under the bumper.

It’s the one detail Ford overlooked. The factory tailpipe looks like it belongs on a delivery van, not an off-road icon.

The fix is simple, cheap, and takes 10 minutes: A Black Exhaust Tip.

But before you run to the local auto parts store and grab a generic $20 tip, you need to know a few things about Inlet Size and Heat Coatings. In this guide, we explain why "Universal" tips fall off, and how to pick a tip that won't turn into a rusty eyesore after one winter.

Frequently Asked Questions (Exhaust Tips)

Will an exhaust tip make my Bronco louder?

No. An exhaust tip is a purely cosmetic upgrade. It acts as a "sleeve" over the end of the pipe. It does not replace the muffler or resonators, so it cannot change the volume or tone of the engine. If you want sound, you need an Axle-Back Exhaust.

Will the black finish peel off from the heat?

Not if you buy quality. Cheap spray-painted tips will peel immediately. The tips we sell (like Rough Country or Go Rhino) use High-Heat Powder Coating or Ceramic Coating specifically bonded to withstand exhaust temperatures.

How do I stop it from vibrating?

Vibration usually happens if the tip isn't tight enough or is touching the bumper.

  1. Slide the tip on fully, leaving about 1/2 inch of clearance between the tip and the plastic bumper cutout.
  2. Torque the clamp bolt down tight (check it again after 100 miles of driving as heat expansion can loosen it).

Finish the look.
