Are wheel spacers safe for off-roading?
Yes, if they are high quality. Brands like Spidertrax and BORA are widely used in rock crawling and desert racing. The danger comes from using cheap, cast-aluminum spacers or failing to torque them properly. If you use a billet aluminum, hub-centric spacer and use Red Loctite on the inner nuts, they are as strong as a negative-offset wheel.
Will 1.5-inch spacers make my tires stick out?
Yes.
- Sasquatch / Wildtrak: A 1.5" spacer will push the tire past the fender flare slightly ("poke").

Base / Big Bend: A 1.5" spacer usually brings the tire perfectly flush with the standard fender flare.

Do I need to re-torque them?
Absolutely. You must check the torque on the spacer nuts (the ones holding the spacer to the hub) after the first 50–100 miles. After that, check them at every tire rotation. Most failures happen because a user installed them and never checked them again.
