Is cutting my Sierra's frame permanent? Can I ever go back to stock?
It is permanent. You cannot easily go back to stock.
Because you have to physically saw off a section of the factory steel frame bracket to lower the front differential, a true 4-inch or 6-inch lift kit is a permanent commitment. While a professional welder could technically fabricate and weld a new piece back in, it is highly impractical. Will a 6-inch lift kit instantly void my GMC powertrain warranty?
