What is the difference between White and Amber fog lights?
- White (6000K): Best for clear nights and matching the look of modern LED headlights.
- Amber/Yellow (3000K): Best for actual fog, snow, and dust. Blue/White light reflects off water particles (glare), blinding you. Yellow light penetrates better and reduces eye strain in bad weather.
My truck has Vertical fogs. Can I install Horizontal ones?
No. The mounting brackets inside the bumper are completely different, and the cutout shape does not match. You must buy the light orientation that matches your specific bumper year/trim.
- Rule of Thumb: 2013+ is usually Vertical. 2009-2012 is usually Horizontal. But always look before ordering.
Do I need a resistor or decoder for fog lights?
Sometimes. The RAM 1500 monitors fog light circuits for "burnt bulbs" just like the headlights. If you install a low-power LED, it might flicker or turn off.
