The science behind it is simple: Refraction.
Bright white or blue-tinted light (6000K+) hits water droplets suspended in the air (fog, rain, or falling snow) and scatters. This scattering creates that dangerous "wall of white" glare that completely blinds you when you accidentally turn your high beams on in a heavy snowstorm.
Yellow light, possessing a longer wavelength, doesn't scatter nearly as easily. It actually cuts through the dense moisture, lighting up the road surface itself instead of illuminating the air right in front of your windshield.

Why should I choose Yellow fog lights over bright White?
It comes down to Contrast and Glare Reduction.
Bright white light (especially blue-tinted LED) features a short wavelength that refracts easily off water droplets (fog/rain) and falling snow. This refraction causes the light to aggressively bounce right back into your eyes, creating a blinding "wall of white."
Yellow light has a longer wavelength that penetrates dense moisture much better. If you live in a snowy climate or drive in heavy off-road dust, yellow fogs will actually let you see significantly further down the road than white ones.
Can I add fog lights to my Tradesman if it didn't come with them?
Yes, but you absolutely need the replacement bezels.
You cannot just take a knife and cut a jagged hole in your solid bumper inserts. You need to physically pop those inserts out and install Fog Light Bezels (brackets) that snap cleanly into the bumper.
Wiring Note: Since your truck likely doesn't have the factory fog light button on the dashboard, most complete kits come with a separate wiring harness and a toggle switch that you route into the cab.
Will these standard fog lights fit my RAM Rebel?
Most will NOT.
The RAM Rebel utilizes a completely different steel bumper structure than the standard Big Horn or Laramie trims. Standard "DT" fog light brackets will absolutely not line up with the mounting points. You must look for fog light kits that specifically say "Fits Rebel / TRX."
