For the 2021–2025 Ford F-150, getting the fitment right is critical. These trucks are heavy, they tow loads, and they have a specific 87.1mm hub bore. If you get this wrong, you risk vibration, broken studs, or worse.

Are wheel spacers safe for towing?
Yes, IF they are Hub-Centric and installed correctly. High-quality spacers (like BORA) are made from 6061-T6 Billet Aluminum, the same material as many alloy wheels. The danger comes from cheap "universal" spacers that leave a gap around the hub, putting shear force on the studs. Never tow with non-hub-centric spacers.
Will I have to cut my factory studs?
It depends on the spacer thickness and your wheel design.
- If Spacer < Factory Stud Length: The studs poke through. You need pockets in the wheel or you must trim the studs.
- If Spacer > Factory Stud Length: No trimming needed.
- Most 2021+ factory wheels have pockets, but you must verify visually before installing.
Will spacers make my tires rub?
They might. By pushing the wheel out, you are swinging the tire in a wider arc. If you are already running oversized tires (33s or 34s) on stock suspension, adding spacers will likely force the tire into the front crash bars when you turn the steering wheel. You may need a leveling kit or crash bar modification.
